“He hoped also that money should have been given him of Paul, that he might loose him: wherefore he sent for him the oftener, and communed with him.”
Acts 24:26

When the Bible talks about the armor of God, he tells us the protection for our feet:
“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” Ephesians 6:15
Expatiated here:
“…How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:15
Having the proclamation of the gospel as your first resort when you meet people would guard you against the tricks of the devil to join them in unrighteousness.
Like Paul, by the time you’ve told them how Jesus came to deliver them from sin and give them a new life, it would be greatly unbecoming for you to then turn around and join them in iniquity.
Being visibly known as a preacher of the gospel would cause you to be far removed from unnecessary distractions, seductions and iniquities.
If you hide and pretend like you are just like unbelievers and dissuade yourself from preaching to them, you might eventually be convinced to join them in their escapades, and that would not end well; learn from King Jehoshaphat. 2 Chronicles 17:3- 1 Kings 21:25- 1 Kings 22:4- 1 Kings 22:32-33.
