The Word of God is light and we are so blessed to be enlightened everytime we hear the word of God, during the Sunday service, Pastor took us on an inspiring journey in the word of God teaching us on the subject of Faith. We learnt that faith can be seen and faith should be heard, the Bible shows us in Romans 10:6 that the righteousness that is of faith speaks and in Romans 10:10 that confession made with the mouth is what leads to salvation, we saw this exemplified in the life of Abraham, he was strong in faith and he did something as a result, instead of complaining when there was a delay, he vocalised his faith by giving glory to God, with this, Pastor established that the proof that faith is present is when we hear that faith expressed, even if no one else hears it, we should hear our faith expressed.

We went on to learnt that there is a righteousness that comes by faith, this means faith can make things right, in a situation where something is wrong or someone is going in the wrong direction, faith can cause things to become right or to begin to go in the right direction, for a man who is sick in his body, faith can get him healed making things right in his body, for a man who is on the wrong path to hell, faith in Jesus can set him on the right path, just as doctors can make things right in the human body, our faith can do the same so even if we have nothing else, we can have faith for any situation and things will become right.

We looked at some inspiring stories in the word of God, in Mark 2, four friends brought a paralytic man to Jesus and because they could not find a way to get into the room because of the crowd, they broke the roof and let him down to Jesus, the Bible tells us that Jesus saw their faith, their faith was manifested in their refusing to allow anything stop them from getting their friend to Jesus and by that act of faith, the paralysed man got healed. We read the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5, she had said to herself that she would be whole if only she could touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, her faith could be heard and her faith produced the result she desired, Jesus himself said her faith had made her whole, we also learnt from the story of the syrophenician woman in Mark 7, despite the seeming opposition to her faith from the words of Jesus, she stood firm on her desire and vocalised her faith until a point where Jesus commended her faith as recorded in Matthew 15:28, finally, we learnt from Bartimaeus, when he heard that Jesus was passing by, he began to cry for mercy and despite being hushed by the crowd around him, he cried the more, he was not going to allow his faith to be dampened by what anyone said or did and as Jesus later told him, his faith was what restored his eyesight.

Pastor rounded off the sermon by reminding us that singing is an act of faith, the Bible instructs us to offer the sacrifices of praise; there may be times we don’t feel like it, but we will do it anyway, sometimes, we may be worshipping and Satan reminds us of those things we have been praying for that seem to not have been granted, our attitude should be like that of Bartimeaus, we should sing, worship and dance even more and even louder because we know what God can do. Glory to God!
