“Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭35‬

Jesus said:
“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬-‭23‬
And in the previous verses (18-21) he had been contrasting setting your affection on heaven as against treasures (money) on the earth, which is culminated in Proverbs 28:22-
“He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, And considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.”
And the Bible already told us- Proverbs 23:4.
The man who’s everywhere trying to make a buck would receive every information he thinks would propel him to wealth but doesn’t consider he’s walking in his own wisdom and the end will be poverty. For us, who are single eyed and focused on God’s word, we would have the wisdom of God manifest in our lives- Joshua 1:8, Proverbs 8:10,18.
