“that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬

Because God expects you to shine as light in this crooked world, it matters what you see and hear, the Bible tells us of Lot:
“(for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)” ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬
In seeing and hearing, he vexed his righteous soul, what he saw and heard was a direct torment to his soul and the Bible tells us:
“A healthy spirit conquers adversity, but what can you do when the spirit is crushed?” Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭14‬ ‭MSG‬‬
And so John says:
“that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬
Instead of seeing and hearing what the world gives, see and hear of the word of life that John shares, so you would have fellowship with the father and son and walk in righteousness always!
