“Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.”
2 Timothy 1:13

Do God’s word because of your faith in Jesus and your love for him, not because you want the glory of men. Jesus was anointed by God and God was with him doing good, and he said:
“I receive not honour from men.” John 5:41
“But I receive not testimony from man…” John 5:34
Never approach the word of God in a bid to prove a point, all who did when he walked on the earth, left disappointed:
“They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not… And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last…” John 8:4-9
“And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him… And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.” Mark 10:20-22
“Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk… And no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions.” Matthew 22:15,46
Let Jesus be the centre of your desires and your responses- live by him, just like he lives by the Father who sent him.
