Glory to God!

We had yet another exciting and supernatural service on Wednesday as the Word of God came to us with so much power fortifying us to live victoriously in spite of the prevailing circumstances in the world.

Pastor began the teaching by instructing us to speak only words of Faith, Hope and Love in this period, she instructed that we should desist from communications that instill fear in others and ensure that all of our communications inspire faith.

Reading from Psalm 107:18-20, Pastor showed us that it takes only the word of God to deliver even those who are afflicted by sickness because of their sins.

“Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death. Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses. He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

Pastor declared that the ongoing pandemic in the world is not a surprise to God and his answer to this seeming challenge is his Word. With this, Pastor instructed us to speak the word daily knowing that there are those who may be living in fear based on what they have seen or heard but would be delivered because of the word they hear from us.

Moving on, Pastor showed us that throughout the scriptures and through varying challenging situations, there has always been something different about the people of God, Noah, a righteous man in his generation was saved by the ark, Lot, another righteous man was delivered when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, and the Israelites were preserved when the whole of Egypt suffered from deadly plagues. This information point us to the truth that when we received the gospel, something happened to us, we were completely delivered from this present evil world and from everything that the world can bring as seen in Galatians 1:4,

“Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father”

Pastor emphasized that having been delivered from the world, nothing of the world can affect the Christian, therefore, the Christian should live a life free of concerns, she mentioned that the Christian who is so concerned and bothered about happenings in the world is the one who pays attention to the wrong things instead of focusing on the word of God.

Pastor read another scripture to show that indeed, the Christian has escaped the corruption in the world.

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” 2 Peter 1:4

She admonished that our disposition in these times should be concern for those who don’t know these things or who are weak in faith while being confident that we cannot be affected. However, Pastor brought to our attention that though the Christian has been delivered, if he responds carnally, he will be affected.

”For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6

She instructed us to not be conformed to the world and to refuse to think like the world does, reminding us that we don’t find solace like the world does but we find solace in the word of God. She admonished us to know that we are different, to act as such and to shun negative thoughts or speech just like Jesus did. Giving examples of how Jesus rebuked Peter when he spoke contrary words and how he also threw out the mourners in Jairus’ house after they mocked his expression of faith, Pastor made us aware that with lots of negative information around, the devil has enough tools with which to bring negative thoughts to us and she instructed that we bodly cast out such negative thoughts from the devil.

Pastor concluded the message by reminding us that God has been preparing us for this with his word and certainly, we will win.
