“Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” John 14:17

See what the Bible says:
“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
The natural man is of the world and the Bible makes clear that he cannot receive not just the Spirit but all that is of him, infact he considers them foolishness and he can’t know (have a revelation of) them and this is why you must make clear to yourself that you are different because guess what the natural man considers foolish? The things God specially prepared for you that love him and plans to lavish on you freely- 1 Corinthians 2:9-12.
So for every Christian who misplaces priorities and get lured into acting like the natural man because of their association or desire for status, the word of God calls them carnal (not natural), 1 Corinthians 3:1-4. The end would not be pleasant:
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:5-6
