“Princes also did sit and speak against me: But thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.Thy testimonies also are My delight and my counsellors.” Psalm 119:23-24
God’s word was his delight, not the affirmations or praises of men, celebrities or nobles, else as these men began plotting against him, his response would have been depression but he walked in wisdom and didn’t give himself to men but to the word- be like him; be like Jesus:
“But Jesus, for His part, did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all people [and understood the superficiality and fickleness of human nature],” John‬ ‭2‬:‭24‬ ‭Amplified Bible
Let the word of God be your sole counsel; he is not limited by time or experience- he can make the time, redeem the time and create the experience. Most people give counsel based on some past experience or some reference point, if Moses had met such people for counsel about crossing the Red Sea, he would have been told to build an ark based on the previous record of Noah- and that would have been the end of the book of Exodus.
Thank God he consulted the word- and the counsel of the word created a new reference point. Get to God’s word- only and always!
