“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.”
Romans 13:14 KJV
He had been saying:
“The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.” Romans 13:12
He says cast off the works of darkness, all of the deeds that are found in the dark, the occupations of sinners, he says put them aside and instead put on the armour of light.
So he’s saying the first thing that should be visible about you to anyone is the light that you express. The word ‘put on’ is from the Greek ‘endoo’ which means ‘sink into’, that means you are so absorbed by the light you seek to express that your former biases and persuasions are nowhere to be found.
Also notice, he calls it the ‘armour’ of light, meaning ensuring that the light you express is what is visible about your life would shield you from unnecessary compromises, distractions and temptations.
