“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.”
1 Corinthians 14:2

Understanding who you are as a Christian is so vital in your communion with God. Knowing your identity as a child of God, and the purpose for which he called you:
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”  1 Corinthians 1:9
He called you to the fellowship of his son, there’s the fellowship of the son of God, where every member of that fellowship have the same life, same spirit, same glory, same name, same Father; what a fellowship- imagine the kind of communications to be expected from such a gathering; it will definitely go beyond requesting for a house, a car or a wife, it would be living out the verities of dwelling in God and him dwelling in you;
“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”  Matthew 3:17
It would be an understanding of your authority, influence and inheritance as a child of God:
“This is my beloved Son… hear ye him.”  Matthew 17:5
It would be walking on the earth in the glory of his name and giving glory to his name
“Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”  John 12:28
It would be such fellowship that seeks to help others- seeks the lost, heals the sick and raises the dead, which is God’s good pleasure.
“…And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.”  John 11:41
“In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father…that thou hast… hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.”  Luke 10:21
Fellowship and oneness with God should be your ultimate focus when talking to him; that’s what he wants, that is what you need!
