“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,”
Titus 2:11
He continues:
“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” Titus 2:12
Having received grace, deny ungodliness- the works and association of the ungodly, and worldly lusts.
Simply put, let the word of God influence and be the object of your affections and desires, he says:
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Colossians 3:2
Set your affections on things above, where Christ is, he isn’t trying to make you an astronaut or a space engineer but a spiritually conscious Christian focused passionately on Jesus and his word.
He says deny worldly lusts- do not feed them, do not tolerate or accommodate them and the means with which they are transmitted- words or media; Jesus said:
“…Take heed what ye hear…” Mark 4:24
Because you have received God’s grace, you have the ability to reign in life, reign over the lusts of the eyes, flesh and the pride of life; take advantage of that grace and isolate yourself from ungodliness and worldliness:
“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)” Romans 5:17
