“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”
1 Peter 4:7

He instructs that since the end of all things is at hand; watch into prayer- don’t pray anyhow anytime you are chanced! Be deliberate about your praying; plan your times of prayer, if you are busy during the day and are almost always stuck in traffic at night, then do like Jesus:
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”  Mark 1:35
Also, at times you have to decide to leave all the hustle and bustle and do like Jesus:
“And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.”  Luke 5:16
When the end of his sojourn as the son of man was near, Jesus gave a similar instruction to his disciples:
“Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.”  Mark 14:38
They didn’t follow it, until it got late:
“And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.”  Mark 14:41
But not you! This world is coming to an end; the world would have to end one day and that end is near, knowing that don’t let issues of lesser importance distract you from your spiritual fervency:
“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;”  Romans 12:11
