“For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:”
1Peter 3:10

He didn’t say he that will love life and see good days would be born into a wealthy family or he that will love life and see good days must eat an apple a day to keep the doctor away. His instruction and methods are very clear, he said “let him refrain his tongue from evil” and “his lips that they speak no guile”.
The word ‘refrain’ also means ‘quit’ or ‘put to an end’.
You are born again, you’ve received the Spirit but you still believe the Christian experience is one day up and another day down, and you go around spreading that gospel anytime you have the opportunity? He says quit it, put that thought and conversation to an end! The Christian experience according to the word of God is ‘loving life and seeing good days.’ That becomes your experience once you talk right!
You receive salvation:
“…with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”  Romans 10:10
You would enjoy all of the glorious benefit of this new life by:
“…and his lips that they speak no guile”
Your mouth/lips/tongue and using them properly is what you require to live a fulfilling life, not a good salary or a good home. Guess what? Your tongue when used correctly would provide for you that good salary and good home.
