He provides for your peace, because he is the lord of peace:
“Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means…” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
Hear him:
“Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.” Matthew 17:27
He knew those asking for money were in the wrong but yet he decided to pay not just for himself alone, but for Peter also. He paid to avoid the unnecessary troubles they could cause even if they were wrong: “Lest we offend them”
So consistent with what he told us: Matthew 5:40-42
Typical Jesus, never asking us to do what he himself didn’t do and leave as an example for us.
Bible Reading Plan: Jeremiah 44 and Genesis 48
