“And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Matthew 16:18
The Bible says:
“…count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;” James 1:2
“Diverse”- so not just one or one type of challenge, but when diverse challenges come, he says count it joy- rejoice! Why?
“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.” James 1:3
Because you would master patience and the end result is you would never lack:
“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be PERFECT and ENTIRE, WANTING NOTHING.” James 1:4
Exactly what Jesus said here:
“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and BRING FORTH FRUIT with patience.” Luke 8:15
Mastering patience goes beyond just sitting down and waiting for time to pass, Jesus said you ought to keep the word patiently, meaning you insist on the word knowing that no matter the time that passes, God’s word would put you over.
