“If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.”
John 12:26
True service begins when you follow Jesus, and he is the best example of how to serve even, he said to his disciples:
“…I am among you as he that serveth.” Luke 22:27
You can’t serve him outside his word, you can’t serve him on your own terms, he said:
“…If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;” John 8:31
But he also said:
“…If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23
This means your choice at every given juncture is clear; you would do his word irrespective of how inconvenient things might seem, because he called you to deny yourself (ambitions and desires) daily and follow him! Listen to Apostle Paul:
“For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake…” 2 Corinthians 4:11
