“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2

He provides two options and emphasizes what your desire, focus and action should be- he said, don’t be conformed to this world, that’s an option, even if you are born again, you can choose to be conformed to this world, so much so, that there would be no difference between you and the unbeliever in the way you think, talk and act, but the word of God warns against such conformity:
“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:” Ephesians 5:8
Such compromise is not worth it. Be not conformed! Work against conforming to the world, always be found standing, deeply rooted in God’s word. The only meeting place for the world and the word is the cross of Christ; unless you are preaching the gospel, your desires and expressions in life should be far removed from that of the world.
Do not explain away or try to understand, instead expose the unrighteousness that inspires and inhabits the world and its systems:
“…and have nothing to do with the unfruitful actions that darkness produces. Instead, expose them for what they are.” Ephesians 5:11, ISV
