“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2

Instead of conforming, transform! Your transformation is really dependent on you- what you choose to give attention to and fill your mind with. He says the first stop for your transformation is your mind; if you renew your mind, you would transform your life.
The man who is conforming to the world cannot prove what is the good acceptable and perfect will of God, no matter how smart he might seem:
“…know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4
Reject the status quo. Maybe before you got born again you were used to a particular system of life, a particular thought pattern, but now that you are born again, a new man in Christ, he gives the first instruction- he says behold, things have changed:
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
The old has gone and the new has come, do not refer back to old expectations and responses, there is a new life with new expectations and responses for you in Christ. Instead of conforming, it is time to transform!
