“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2
If God can renew your mind, he would transform your life! But his responsibility is to give you his word, which he has already done and your responsibility is to get to his word and submit to all that he says.
It’s like what we see here: Luke 5:3-7.
Jesus gave Peter the word but it was Peter’s responsibility to cast his net into the sea— Jesus was not going to do that bit for him. So get to the word:
“And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up…” Acts 20:32
And there’s something you can add to that:
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…” 1 Corinthians 14:4
It is also your responsibility to build up yourself! God wouldn’t do that for you:
“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Jude 1:20
And he tells you the way to do that is to speak in other tongues, he gives you the ability and you act accordingly.
So imagine the outcome of a man who spends time with the word, meditating and speaking in tongues! That’s a divine self improvement session that any Christian should plan for themselves as often as possible.
