“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2
God wanted to save Noah from the destruction of the world and so he told him what he ought to do:
“And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood… And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:..” Genesis 6:13-15
For 100 years, Noah was building the ark- God didn’t send the ark from heaven to him, he gave him the instructions, told him what to do.
It was Noah’s responsibility to build the ark; that ark that eventually shielded him and his family from the mass destruction of the world and caused him to float while others were sinking.
He built it; acting on God’s word.
Now the Bible tells us, not only can you transform your life, you can build yourself up— acting on God’s word:
“He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself…” 1 Corinthians 14:4
And as you speak in tongues, he says you are not just emboldened but you rise like an edifice far above the chaos in the world, no wonder he tells us:
“Wherefore, brethren… forbid not to speak with tongues.” 1 Corinthians 14:39
