“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Romans 12:2

Always pay attention to the materials given you by the word and what he expects you do with them. It should be clear to you when you study God’s word, what are your responsibilities and what are God’s.
In the main verse, you would notice that God’s responsibility is to give you his word, and your responsibility is to use his word to transform your life.
Your transformation then really becomes your responsibility and that is good news, because at any given point, you can decide to upgrade your life with the word and it will be so.
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 1:4
God wants you walking in the truth, it is the Spirit’s great joy that you constantly renew your mind with the word and walk accordingly, it is left to you to walk in the Spirit’s pleasure.
Also, the first thing he expects you do in Christ is to behold, behold that old things had passed away and all things are new, [2 Corinthians 5:17], behold the glory of God in his word and change into the glory you see.
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
