“But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.”
1 Timothy 5:6

Jesus said:
“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” Luke 9:24
And that’s exactly the life Apostle Paul lived:
“For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake…” 2 Corinthians 4:11
And so it didn’t matter the embarrassing situations preaching the gospel put him in- he wasn’t living for himself anyway:
“Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;” 2 Corinthians 11:25, see also Acts 21:13
But in all, he was still very conscious that he was better placed in life, as he would communicate to an assembly of Governors, Kings and dignitaries:
“And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds.” Acts 26:29
Don’t live your life compelled by the opinions, honours and even threats of men.
