“But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.”
1 Timothy 5:6

Jesus said:
“But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved.” John 5:34
Meaning it didn’t matter to him who was testifying about how nice he was (John the Baptist, John 1:27) or how terrible he was (these guys: John 9:24b)
He also said:
“I receive not honour from men.” John 5:41
So he didn’t care if he was treated with respect by others and he definitely didn’t bend over to be treated that way, (just as he taught us: Luke 14:7-11), only one person’s opinion and honor mattered to him:
“…seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” John 5:44, 8:54
And so when he was stripped naked and paraded on the streets of Jerusalem, taunted by his detractors, it didn’t matter because it never mattered to him what people thought, what mattered was that at that moment he was doing what God wanted— laying down his life:
“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.” John 10:17
Be inspired and learn how to live life from life himself- seek only the testimony and honour that comes from God.
