“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭21

Being useful to God would automatically lead to being helpful to others, because whatever God asks of you is in line with his purpose to help you and through you, help others. Jesus was useful to God, and through him God helped others: Acts 10:38
He helped us and brought us out of darkness, so through us, he would cause others to come out of the dark:
“All this is done by God, who through Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭GNBUK‬‬
The Bible tells us
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬
He also has good works planned for you and he expects you to be just as eager and available as Jesus was, partnering with him to turn the gentiles from darkness to light.
