“If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
2 Timothy 2:21
God wants you meet for his use and prepared unto every good work, that means whenever there’s a good work to be done for the Lord, you are ready. God wants you always ready, ever useful just like Jesus was ever ready, doing good:
“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Acts 10:38
Listen to him:
“For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” John 6:38
He was very clear about his motives and purpose- he didn’t come to do his own will, meaning he had no secret personal motives and also means he had options, choices and desires that could have been different from what God wanted, but all of that was irrelevant. He came to be useful- not to his family, society or colleagues but- primarily and solely to God.
