“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25
It is possible to live by the Spirit always, and never fulfill the desires of the flesh- reckoning this as possible is the first step to living in its reality:
“So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will never fulfill the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16, ISV
He tells you expressions to avoid in your walk in the spirit:
“Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” Galatians 5:26
And he tells you what to do to be continually filled with the Spirit:
“… but be filled with the Spirit;Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs…” Ephesians 5:17-18
He says speak to yourself; speak God’s word to yourself, say what God has said about you and has said is for you, after all that is why he talked in the first place: “…for he hath said… So that we may boldly say” Hebrews 13:5-6
“…singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.” Ephesians 5:19-21
Sing! Make melodies in your heart to the Lord, have a song of praise, thanksgiving and adoration for the Lord in your heart always- he is so lovely and so kind.
Give thanks! Irrespective of where you are or what’s going on around you, give thanks- God is ahead of you in time and in space!
Submit and resist pride; just like he admonished in Galatians 5:26.
