“… who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14
The Apostle Paul was imprisoned by the emperor (Caesar): Philippians 1:12-13.
But in the midst of that tribulation, he said:
“All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Cæsar’s household.” Philippians 4:22
He took the opportunity to preach to Caesar’s household, so much that they were now felicitating chiefly with other saints at Philippi!
“At my first defense… the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.” 2 Timothy 4:16-17 HCSB
He was brought to trial with a judgement that could have seen him eating by a lion, even at the brink of death- he emphasized preaching the gospel to all that were present to watch his death, he saw it as an opportunity to reach them- if they were there to cheer his death, then most certainly they had not heard the gospel.
How can you compare your presence in an air conditioned office, a bus, a market, a classroom to his presence at the face of death? What is your excuse for not sharing God’s word that you know people actually need as a light in their darkness and dark times?
