Glory!

It’s a new month and it’s the month of the Holy Ghost, we had such an awesome time in God’s presence this Sunday as we received what the Spirit of God had for us through the word of God from Pastor Ebi.

Pastor took a cue from where she stopped her teaching the previous week reminding us that God has a definition for everything and that those who are wise will accept and stick to his definition, he has told us in his word what love is and so we can judge through the word if someone truly loves us or if we’re expressing love correctly.

Pastor went on to show us how that when we received the Spirit of God, one of the things he came to do is to spill the love of God in our hearts to the overflow,

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” Romans 5:5

We can express love exactly as God does because the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts, we no longer have any excuse not to love others like God loves them, we can be patient with others to the same extent that God is and we can be kind to them with they same intensity that God is, our responsibility is to allow the love of God in our heart gain expression in our daily living.

Pastor went on to read from Ephesians 5:1-2,

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.”

We saw that God’s instruction to us is to imitate him being his children and in asking us to copy him, the first instruction he gives us is to walk in love like he does, because we can love like he does.

Pastor brought the message to a crescendo by reading two more scriptures from Philippians 1:9-10 and Ephesians 3:16-19, we learnt from those passages that as our love increases, our perception of issues also improves, we are able to discern what is excellent, make excellent choices and live our lives without offence till the day of Christ, we also understood that as we know God’s love more and manifest it in our lives, we are filled with all the fullness of God.

With this, Pastor charged us to make up our minds to improve in our expressions of love, to work on ourselves to be kinder, more patient and never envious knowing the numerous benefits tied to walking in love.
