“that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬

If God wants you to prophesy, then it is for your own good, peace and prosperity:
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” ‭‭3 John‬ ‭1‬:‭2, Jeremiah 29:11
He had anticipated us prophesying and inspired Prophets to prophesy about these days:
“But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy… And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬-‭18‬
As a Christian, you already have the words of prophecy at your disposition- the more sure words of prophecy, so what do you do with them?
…for he hath said… So that we may boldly say…” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5‬-‭6‬
Boldly declare, and in faith prophesy about your life, your service to God and your destiny. Let nothing deter you. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places, every word uttered in faith is creating a divine reality for you. Hebrews 11:3
