What Is Possible
“For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;”
Colossians 1:9
The main verse makes it clear what is possible in your life. Yes! You can be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Knowing isn’t enough, you ought to understand what you know, for example you can know a particular English word but have no clue what it means or when to use it, the word of God is telling you that you can know God’s will in all spiritual understanding; you would not only know his will for your life but you would understand it fully.
Jesus knew God’s will for him, he knew why he was sent and he vocalized it clearly:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
He also understood God’s will; he understood that his death was to be initiated by the Jews and culminated by the Gentiles:
“Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:” Mark 10:33
And so, he passed on many opportunities to be killed by seeming natural events:
“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39
And by the Jews: Luke 4:29-30, John 8:58-59, John 10:31-39
When it was time for him to go, and it was going to happen the way it should, despite ‘good hindrances- the officers falling under the power and Peter’s zealous swordsmanship (John 18 )’ he ensured and eventually fulfilled God’s will for him exactly the way he should.
It is possible for you to know in all spiritual understanding God’s will for your life and to walk accordingly!
