It’s our month of Prayer and Sunday service was a time of inspiration as we were enlightened on the right attitudes to have regarding the subject of prayer, Pastor began by teaching us the importance of patience, we saw that patience is a fruit of the Spirit pointing to the truth that God knows it is something that we need, Pastor illustrated the importance of patience with the example of a pregnant woman who has to wait nine months for the manifestation of what is already hers, we learnt that sometimes, important things take time and so we must be willing to wait, Pastor went on to teach from the parable Jesus gave in Luke 18; because of the widows perseverance and in order not to be wearied by her persistence, the unjust judge avenged her of her adversaries, Jesus used that to point us to what attitude to have in our praying to the father, he taught that God would avenge his people speedily even though he bears long with them, showing us that many times, there may seem to be a delay in getting our desired answers but in God’s measurement, his response is speedy and so we must learn to be patient and never give up, we saw the examples of Elisha and Jesus and how they persisted in prayer to the Father while they walked this earth and we were inspired to do likewise.
