“Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.”
Proverbs 18:1

He says a fool has no delight in understanding (Proverbs 18:2), and so even though he can be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in ALL wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 1:9), he doesn’t bother, he’s too busy chasing mundane things, ignorant of the fact that it is in delighting himself in the lord that he would walk in satisfaction:
“Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Psalms 37:4
He loses on all sides- ignorant of who he really is, ignorant of what he really wants, and for all he desires, ignorant of the easiest way to get them:
“Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” Proverbs 13:15
Instead of seeking understanding and walking in favour that comes from God alone, he chooses the hard path and still frets against God;
“The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.” Proverbs 19:3
This should not be you- go for wisdom!
