“Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.”
Proverbs 18:1

A man who desires the word would separate himself to seek- to intermeddle with the word and this happens during preparation. The Bible tells us of Jesus:
“And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,”Luke 4:1
And what happened after that separation:
“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.” Luke 4:14
He went in filled with the Spirit and returned in the POWER of the Spirit; ready to enact righteous changes in the lives of men.
You should take out time to satisfy your desire for the word not just by reading the word but giving YOURSELF WHOLLY to the word:
“Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.” 1 Timothy 4:15
