“Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.”
Proverbs 18:1
He tells us there should be a desire for wisdom, and that desire spurs growth:
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:” 1 Peter 2:2
Wisdom is the word of God, and so you should have a desire for God’s word, to be so filled with the knowledge of Jesus that you can make exactly the same judgements Jesus would make in any given situation, he told us after all to judge righteously:
“Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24
Notice that this is possible and so Paul desired it for others:
“For this cause we also… desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;” Colossians 1:9
And you can have such desires for your life.
