” Memory Verse
“And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.”
Luke 15:12
Today’s Devotional
Everything the father had belonged to the older son after the younger son took his share, yet he suffered for nothing. Some people have it even worse, hear God:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...” Hosea 4:6
A lack of knowledge is the problem, and often times that lack of knowledge is an expression of forgetfulness— they’ve forgotten what they had, but God wants you to not just know what’s yours but always remember so you take advantage and insist and walk in victory:
“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer…”James 1:25
The Bible says:
“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;” Galatians 4:1
We are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, but that is only real for all who know and do not forget— they are the one who enjoy the blessings:
“…he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.” James 1:25
