” Memory Verse
“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence…”
2 Peter 1:5
Today’s Devotional
Make every effort to be excellent- firstly, morally. The Bible tells us:
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” Romans 12:18
“And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.” Jude 1:23
“And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.” 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12
These are things God expects you to do: living peaceably, not always troublesome, walking in holiness and far removed from worldliness, having and minding your business.
If you find yourself in an environment that is antithetical to your keeping said instructions, simply leave:
“Blessed is the man that… sitteth (not) in the seat of the scornful.” Psalms 1:1
“Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.” Proverbs 14:7
