Today’s Devotional
The Bible tells us that faith came to you as you heard the gospel, so every Christian has the measure of faith:
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
“…God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3
But then he tells us to make every effort to add excellence to our faith, we ought to express virtue- moral excellence in everything that concern us.
Daniel was a man of faith; he made a decision simply on the basis of God’s word-
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank...” Daniel 1:8 (see Daniel 5:4 for context)
Yet, he was a man of excellence:
“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him…” Daniel 6:3
And so no matter the regime or country; even as a captured foreigner, he excelled. Add excellence to your faith.
