Today’s Devotional
Make every effort to be excellent- in big and little things. Learn from Jesus;
“He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.” John 13:4-5
What a proper man! Why didn’t he just soak his garments as he washed their feet and used said garments to clean them; after all the deed being done seemed more noble, but because he was a man of excellence, he knew there was a proper attire for the moment and chose to be clean, proper and orderly. Learn again:
“And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.” John 20:7
Why did he arrange the linen and roll the napkin though? It’s in a tomb- who would reuse it? But it’s indicative of who he was, he didn’t just leave things anyhow- he was put together and excellent, no wonder despite the corruption and pollution of mankind, the world remains:
Hebrews 1:3.
Plan to improve in your excellence; you can be better, things can be done better.
