Today’s Devotional
Just like the father wasn’t upset that the younger son took all he had, he would not had been upset if the older son killed the fatted calf for himself and his friends before the younger son arrived but the older son was waiting for the father to give him what was already his! There are people waiting for God to give them what is already theirs, it’s like the sinner crying to God to save him when God has already made salvation available in Christ and all he needs to do is receive! It is the same thing with healing:
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
Learn from the older son and be different; don’t wait for what’s already given you by God- see it in his word and take (“lambano”) it else you might live your life upset at God and innocent people who have done nothing wrong to you.
