“And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.”

Today’s Devotional
The father didn’t stop the younger son from taking all he possessed- he knew what was his and he took advantage and there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. Jesus had said:
“All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” John 16:15
He knew he had everything God had and he could distribute as he willed.
The problem with the younger son was the lack of wisdom, he wasted his money and ended up beggarly:
“Whoso loveth wisdom rejoiceth his father: but he that keepeth company with harlots spendeth his substance.” Proverbs 29:3
Now that you know God has given you all you require for life and godliness, continue in the word because God’s word is wisdom— that’s the only way to appropriate all that is real to yourself and your situation: 1 Timothy 4:15-16.
Your time with the word should be a time of finding treasures- finding out all God has given you freely, unsparingly and speaking in agreement with him: Romans 8:32.
