Today’s Devotional
Make every effort to be excellent; in your relationship with others.
“And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent…” Philippians 1:9-10
Your walk of love is your walk of excellence. The more loving you are, the more you make excellent choices. He emphasizes it: 1 Thessalonians 3:12-13
And because you love, you learn to be gracious and believe the best in others: 1 Peter 4:8, Proverbs 17:9, 1 Corinthians 13:7.
Cover sins, believes the best, does not repeat a matter.
Learn from Jesus:
“…And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.” Luke 22:50-51
Did he know the man he healed came to arrest him and eventually get him killed? See again;
“Now he that betrayed… forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come?…” Matthew 26:48-50
Who did he just call friend? What a perfect example Jesus is for us all!
