Keep the word, even when things seem to act against you. It’s easy to take for granted keeping God’s word when it seems you are enjoying the favour of men, but God’s word should be kept at all times. In the same chapter, hear David:
“Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.” Psalms 119:23
People were speaking against him and he didn’t question the favour of God he was to experience by reason of his keeping the word, instead he continued meditating on the word. Hear him again:
“Many are my persecutors and mine enemies; yet do I not decline from thy testimonies.” Psalms 119:157
“Many”, not few or some, and we know this is true because we read in God’s word how whole towns and villages were willing to hand him over to King Saul even after, in some cases, he had helped them, (see 1 Samuel 23:1-12) YET! He didn’t decline from the word. Have you let seeming turbulent circumstances sway you from the word?
