Today’s Devotional
David had said this:
“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:11
He hid the word in his heart to enable him walk in righteousness, the Bible already told us:
“Above everything else guard your heart, because from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23, ISV
And true to keeping with instruction:
“…incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.” Proverbs 4:20-21
He kept the word in his heart, by seeing and hearing the word- having the word before him always. This was God’s instruction for a life of righteousness and victory, as he told Moses:
“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”Deuteronomy 6:6-7, read to verse 9
Walking in righteousness is not a mental resolution but an expression of the word that you fellowship with daily.
