Today’s Devotional
A steward of God should hold fast God’s faithful word for himself and then for others: 1 Timothy 4:16
He expects that as a steward you would be sound in doctrine; teach the word correctly and appropriately and peradventure convince those who might have missed some truths in the word or just plainly oppose themselves:
“In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” 2 Timothy 2:25-26
He tells us they become captives and victims of the devil- listening rightly influences living rightly; it matters what you pay attention to as God’s steward- give yourself to the word. It also matters what you minister to God’s people:
“Preach God's message. Do it willingly, even if it isn't the popular thing to do...” 2 Timothy 4:2, CEV
