“Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.”
Titus 1:9
Today’s Devotional
Hold fast the faithful word that you have been taught; don’t sway from it, when you hold something, then you’d show it off when you need to. He had said:
“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” 1 Timothy 6:12
In our fight of faith, he tells us to lay hold on eternal life; eternal life is invisible- it cannot be seen, it takes faith to hold on to that which cannot be seen:
“By faith… he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27
But God’s word is life: 1 John 1:1-2
And so in our fight of faith, he expects us to hold fast the word; don’t let it go and when situations arise that are contrary to what you expect, show forth the word; declare and recreate the reality shown you in the word!
“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:3
