Today’s Devotional
Jesus asked:
“How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” John 5:44
He directs your desire- there is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking the honor, the glory that God gives.
His approval and praise should be the most important to you, because at the end the Bible tells us: 1 Corinthians 4:5
And so Jesus lived that life, he was never pressured to respond in a manner that will please men or himself, hear what he said:
“As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.” John 10:15
He laid his life for us because he knew that was what God wanted; what a missed opportunity to choose himself instead. The Bible tells us:
“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” 2 Timothy 2:4
Always seek the honour that comes from God, not the reasons and explanations that proceed from men.
