“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”
Matthew 18:19
Today’s Devotional
Your association in prayer is so important, you must have people who can pray with you and who can call upon you for prayer, when things are unseemly. Learn from Jesus:
“And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray. And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.” Mark 14:32-34
The eight could sit and watch, but he had three that were close to him and prayed with him, he brought them close in his walk on the earth, they saw his personal concerns just as they saw his personal encounters: Mark 9:2
And victories: Mark 5:37, Mark 5:42
If it takes two to make an agreement, then your closest partner, which would most likely be your spouse is so important- one whose response is spiritual and righteousness when the situation or suggestion seem damning, and not like these guys in Acts 5:9.
Sapphira agreed with Ananias, so even if she might have been skeptical- it didn’t matter, her skepticism should have compelled a suggestion to pray, maybe they both would have been spared being eternal bad examples.
