Today’s Devotional
Jesus fed over five thousand people with just five loaves of bread and two fishes, and they had left overs- that’s a miracle!
Those fed, were so compelled by the miracle the Bible tells us, they were convinced Jesus was the prophet Moses had prophesied about and they were determined to make him king by force- to the extent of traveling to another city, after he had left, just to look for him and bring him back as king!
“Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world…Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king….” John 6:14-15
Who would blame them? Interestingly, his disciples weren’t as compelled:
“For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their heart was hardened.” Mark 6:52
They distributed the loaves, they should have been the first to be compelled, yet they didn’t consider what happened. Do you consider the great miracles God has wrought in your life or do you behave like the disciples?
