” Memory Verse
“Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.”
Psalms 119:67
Today’s Devotional
How did David keep the word? He tells us:
“Mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy word.” Psalms 119:148
He didn’t wait for it to be convenient, he stored up the word in his heart even late at night. He didn’t wish until he had more time, he created the time! See what Jesus did:
“And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.” Mark 1:35
He didn’t wait for a vacation or when he’d be less busy during the day. The Bible tells us:
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:16
Buy back the time, enough time has been spent being carnal and worldly:
“For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles…” 1 Peter 4:3
Now buy back the time and emphasize studying and meditating on the word, take advantage of every opportunity to fellowship with God and elevate the quality of your experience as a new creation in Christ Jesus.
