” Memory Verse
“For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;”
Titus 1:7
Today’s Devotional
He calls the bishop, a steward of God and tells us what is expected of God’s stewards: A steward of God must not be self willed- you don’t do things just because you like it, or you personally contemplated on it and thought it was the best option. The Bible tells us:
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13
Your life must be an expression of the will of God irrespective of its flamboyance or solitude. Learn from Jesus:
“I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.” John 8:26
Simply put- he was not self willed, he was “God’s word- willed”. A good idea even though it helps God would not mean much. Do what God has planned for you to do, not what you will of yourself.
